Luke 4:1-13
Recall the words of Jesus in the Lord’s Prayer: “Lead us not
into temptation.” From the time we are born till the time we die, all of
us will face all types of temptation. Let us learn from today’s Gospel from
Luke that Jesus resisted temptation from the devil three times while praying
and fasting in the desert.
During this season of Lent, let us resist the temptations that
may gain us the personal p’s: power, position and prestige! As a St. Francis
College community of faith, let us pursue the common good by advocating causes
that help the lowly and afflicted in our society while we exercise our own
God-given talents and gifts.
