God's Love is Always Greater

Thursday after Ash Wednesday

The greatest commandment in the Holy Bible is to love your God above all else. One way to show our love for him is walking in his ways which are always good. When we walk in his ways, read his word, and put him first, God blesses our steps and helps us mature spiritually, mentally and emotionally. However, if we turn away from him, we go down a path of destruction. Hold fast to the Father. Put him first in your life and the rest follows. Turn away from your sin, and away from bad counsel and trust in the Lord. Follow God every day and it will last an eternity.

"...the world no longer looks like a dark place - he brightens it."
When I feel discouraged, I pray and ask the Lord to show me the purpose of my life. I ask him to encourage me to live for him and to love his people as Christ loves us. When I look through Christ-like eyes and read his word, the world no longer looks like a dark place - he brightens it. Especially in nursing, which is a grueling job and subject to study, I can see in my patients' eyes the vulnerability they have and the love they need. This is like each of us. God loves us unconditionally and sometimes in our vulnerability and discouragement, we forget that no sin is too unforgivable because he is always forgiving. I encourage you this season to hold onto the Lord and his promises. Trust in the plan he has for you and put him first, denying all else. Seek him first. He promises that all things will be added to us. Come lay at his feet, and you will never be left alone. Let his love fill you up and then share it with others. Remember no matter who you are and what you have done, God’s love is always greater.
